Detox Day 14 of 21 pounds in 21 days

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Guess WHAT! That's right baby! 21 pounds *WOOT* (dancing around all day) But, that doesn't mean I'm stopping.... I have 1 week left to go. 1 week can you believe it?! It seems like this has been a long journey that is suddenly coming to an end. Momma bird pushing me out of the nest. LOL
Truthfully, I'm a little scare and excited. Scared because, I know how EASY it will be to stray down the wrong path and get sucked back into the carb and sugar hell roller coaster. It's like the devil, you know you shouldn't, and it will hurt you, but it is sooooo good.
I'm excited because I am actually looking forward to the challenge of maintaining a health diet in my ever so busy and big household. Did I mention it's "eight is enough" around here, only my house isn't quiet at big as theirs was. lol
My triplet nieces, that live with me, say they can tell I've lost weight, they can see it in that first roll under my boobs...it's not as big as it was and my face looks a little slimmer. It's working, it's working! Yeah!
I know I feel skinnier around the waist, and my pants are starting to get a little baggy.
I expect to hit another plateau here in the next few days, but until then...fully steam ahead. I actually think that adding the spurts of running in my walk has helped with the weight loss.
See ya all tomorrow! Thanks for the great comments! They really helps so much. I love reading them all and knowing I'm not alone in this!
Day 14 DONE! 7 TO GO! (OMG 7! OMG!!!)

Hey Chickycola, i came to your blog by accident and loved reading your daily journey and it inspired me to do the detox diet. i don't have a lot of willpower and in the back of my mind i don't really think i can do this, but i'm going to give it a try. I certainly don't have the obsticles you have in your daily goings on. no kids or husband to cook for, just puppies! LOL. i need to lose about 30 pounds and im not really considered "overweight", but my clothes don't fit and i am miserable with the 20 pounds i have put on over the last 2years. I'll keep you posted. going to start in about a week. need to start preparing. elle.

Just dropping in again to see how you're doing... Amazon said my book would be here in August, but it showed up today! LOL! SO I guess I will get a head start on reading it, and after my parents leave from their visit this weekend, I will start!

Thanks for being an inspiration!

Hi Chickycola! First let me congratulate you on your weight loss and your progression towards detoxifying. I am looking to do the detox as well.

Is it difficult to follow the detox? In reading the book, I'd rather it tell me what to eat and when to start off. Truth is, I really cant cook, and I probably wouldn't know a spice from a vegetable if my life depended on it (bless my future husband!) Did you find it difficult to create your own plan?

Hi Chickyhcola, I read your comment from the amazon.com site replies. You are an inspiration and I know that you will continue to meet your goals and strive to make lifestyle changes. When I read your reply, it inspired me to go on the detox program. I'm anxious, apprehension, excited, etc. all kinds of emotions are coming up, but it is definitely what my body needs (an overhaul). You are doing extremely well, and I wish you much success.

Hi Janice,
I had the urge to post this a few days ago when I read this entry but didn't, so I'll do it today. I've recently found this man's site and really enjoy it. So much good stuff to consider. Here is a recent post re. high intensity interval walking. I've been doing a lot of moderate speed distance walking this year, but just recently started to add short bursts of faster speed, and especially up a few hills. I think it helps a lot, PLUS, I notice more mood elevation/depression lifting after my walks if I just accelerate a bit more a few times.
